Since joining Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, Loren has assisted with trial teams that have obtained over fifty million dollars in verdicts and/or settlements for our clients. Loren has also been recognized by the legal community for his dedication to justice and superior skills in advocating for those who have been injured or killed many times over. For instance, Loren was selected for inclusion in the Illinois Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” by the Leading Lawyers Advisory Board in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, a distinction based on peer nominations and independent research and earned by fewer than 2.5% of all lawyers under the age of 40 or/ practicing less than 10 years and licensed to practice law in Illinois. Additionally, in just his fifth year of practice, Loren was named in Chicago Lawyer’s 2023 “40 Under Forty Illinois Attorneys to Watch” series recognizing the state’s next-generation leaders in the law for their outstanding achievements on behalf of clients, their contributions to the legal profession, and their commitment to their community, selected by committee from a competitive pool of over 1,500 attorney and judge nominations as one of the “40 most talented young attorneys working in Illinois.” Read more about Loren’s accomplishments in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s feature here.
Prior to joining Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, Loren worked as a trial attorney at another Chicago personal injury firm, where he was part of trial teams that obtained millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients wrongfully killed or injured, including a $5.97 million record verdict in DeKalb County for an injured worker who fell 30 feet from a bucket truck after the support arm of a boom lift snapped suddenly, throwing him to the ground.
Before beginning his practice of law, Loren clerked at Power Rogers & Smith, where he assisted with six jury trials, numerous dispositive motions, and several appeals in the First District Appellate Court and Illinois Supreme Court. In law school, Loren was a member and editor of the Loyola University Chicago School of Law Journal, a Philip H. Corboy National Mock Trial Advocate Fellow, and a recipient of the third best appellate brief award at the intraschool moot court competition.
Outside of the office, Loren participates in the Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic Expungement & Sealing Summits assisting attendees determine whether they qualify for adult expungement or sealing or other criminal records relief, serves as an ambassador and volunteer for 826CHI, a non-profit tutoring and publishing youth mentor program dedicated to amplifying the voices of disadvantaged Chicago youth, and teaches trial techniques for tomorrow’s lawyers, both through the Judge Michael J. Howlett, Jr. Cup, an annual mock trial competition for Chicago-area Catholic high schools, as well as with his former Loyola University of Chicago School of Law Corboy Fellowship mock trial team.
Loren is admitted to practice law in Illinois, in the federal courts of the Southern, Central, and Northern United States District Courts of Illinois, the Southern District of Texas, and has been granted pro hac vice status in Florida, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.
