Tim Tomasik to Co-Chair 24th Annual National Institute on Aviation Litigation in Chicago

Aviation Litigation event 2018Attorney Timothy S. Tomasik, a founding member of Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, LLC, will chair and moderate the 24th Annual National Institute on Aviation Litigation, which is sponsored by the ABA Section of Litigation – Mass Torts Aviation Subcommittee on June 14th in Chicago. Tomasik is returning as a co-chair for this year’s Institute, which he has actively participated in during the last 11 years.

This year’s program emphasizes topics and discussions surrounding disorderly passengers, cyber risks and emerging aviation technologies, terrorism lawsuits, and civility and ethics in aviation law.

"The Aviation Law Committee is very excited to be hosting this year’s Annual Aviation Litigation Institute in Chicago. We are honored to have distinguished faculty from across the country presenting cutting edge issues such as expert selection, aviation safety, and personal jurisdiction cases." Tomasik stated.

The program will highlight speakers from the aviation law and insurance industry such as keynote speaker Stephen Saltzburg of the George Washington University Law School. Professor Saltzburg will speak about trying aviation cases in the modern era.

Other notable speakers include Greg Feith and Tony James, two aviation safety veterans, who will discuss significant and emerging safety issues within the aviation industry, including decision-making in the cockpit, runway incursions, and the emergence of ultra-low-cost carriers.

In addition, Tim Tomasik will be moderating a panel about the importance of integrity and civility in the legal profession, demonstrating how to identify and avoid instances of incivility and maintain reputation through a series of true-to-life examples with audio-visual exemplars.

The Aviation Litigation National Institute is scheduled for June 14, 2018 at Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront Hotel on 71 East Wacker Drive in Chicago. Upon completion of the program, professionals can receive 7.50 general CLE credits. For more information about the program or to register, visit the ABA's website.
