Attorney Tim Tomasik to Act as Program Chair for Aviation Litigation National Institute 2015

NEW YORK CITY, April 16, 2015

On June 4, 2015, the American Bar Association (ABA) is holding the 21st annual Aviation Litigation National Institute 2015 in New York City. Attorney Tim Tomasik, of Tomasik Kotin Kasserman will act as Program Chair. Aviation Litigation 2015 features a distinguished faculty advising fellow attorneys on aviation litigation matters. Topics to be discussed include unique challenges involved in emergency medical helicopter services both from a legal and safety perspective, choice of forum and other legal issues and precedents arising from several high profile international disasters, flying special missions for government and industry from explosives to ebola, among many others.

As Program Chair, Mr. Tomasik will welcome guests with opening remarks and will also present on the “Protecting the Cockpit from Terrorists to the Mentally Ill: Lessons We’ve Learned from the 9/11 Litigation to the Germanwings Tragedy” panel. This panel will feature the interesting substantive and procedural aspects of 9/11 wrongful death and property damage litigation. The 9/11 Litigation panel will discuss the discovery and mediation process that lead to the $1.2 billion settlement of the World Trade Center property damage claims and the evolution of aviation security from 9/11 to the recent Germanwings tragedy.
