Tim Tomasik Named as Chair of Judicial Selection Committee
July 29, 2024
Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, LLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Tim Tomasik has been appointed to serve as the chair of a standing Judicial Selection Committee. This committee was formed by Justice Joy V.Cunningham of the Illinois Supreme Court to assist in the process of appointing judges in Cook County. The Illinois Supreme Court may fill vacancies in Circuit and Appellate Courts by appointing people to serve as interim judges. These appointees will then be required to run in the next election in order to maintain their seats as judges. The Judicial Selection Committee, which consists of lawyers and non-lawyers who live in Cook County, will assess the qualifications of people who apply to be appointed to vacant seats in the Supreme Court's First District. Attorney Tomasik is honored to be given the opportunity to serve as the chair of the committee and play a role in ensuring that qualified judges are appointed in Cook County.
