TKK to Sponsor "Girls in Crisis" Seminar With the Women's Bar Association of Illinois
On Friday, May 17, 2019, the Women's Bar Association of Illinois (WBAI) will be holding a half-day seminar on the topic of "Girls in Crisis: Foster Care and Unaccompanied Immigrants." This CLE event will examine the unique challenges faced by young girls who cross into the United States, including increased risks of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking. Attorneys who plan to practice in the areas of immigration law or child law will gain a better understanding of the foster care system in Illinois, the policies and practices at the state and federal levels that affect unaccompanied minors, and how to provide legal assistance for these vulnerable children.
The seminar will take place at the Philip H. Corboy Law Center at Loyola University School of Law from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, LLC is a sponsor of this event. For more information and to register for the seminar, please visit the WBAI website.
