Attorney Timothy S. Tomasik, a founding partner of Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, will be moderating the 22nd Annual National Institute on Aviation Litigation sponsored by the ABA Section Litigation – Mass Torts Aviation Law Committee on June 1st in New York City. Tomasik is returning as the Chair for this year’s Institute, which he has actively participated in over the past decade.
This year’s program includes many speakers from the national aviation litigation bar and industry, including Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, The Honorable Christopher A. Hart, who is featured as the Keynote Speaker for this year’s program addressing the challenge of continuing safety improvement in aviation. Another highlight of the program will be Professor Stephen A. Saltzburg of George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., who will be presenting on ethical issues surrounding the preparation of witnesses during an aviation trial.
The program also features several interesting panels including: Birds, Pets, Lasers, Stowaways, and Other Hot Topics in Aviation, Defending Military Contractors Against War Zone Tort Actions, Handling ATC Issues and Aviation Mishaps in Air Crash Cases, Carrier Liability for Medical Diversions; and Defining the Boundaries of Federal Preemption and Aviation Litigation.
"Annually, our national program attracts the top aviation plaintiff and defense lawyers practicing in the aviation arena as well as high profile representatives from the aviation insurance and industry who gather to discuss cutting edge issues and developments in aviation law," Tomasik said.
The Aviation Litigation National Institute is scheduled for June 1, 2016, at the University Club of New York, One West 54th Street, in New York City. For more information about the program or to register, visit the ABA's website.
